Summary
The CWB Qualified Welder/Fitter is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components according to blueprints, engineering specifications, and CWB standards. This role ensures high‑quality workmanship, safe operation of equipment, and adherence to project timelines while working in accordance with ISO procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, MCAW or GTAW in accordance with CWB certification requirements.
- Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, blueprints, and process drawings.
- Measure, Layout, Fit, Align, and Tack-weld components to create assemblies and sub‑assemblies for Robot Welding or Manual Welding.
- Follow CWB WPS, WPDS and Internal fabrication procedures.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality meets CWB and company standards.
- Ensure assemblies meet dimensional accuracy and tolerance.
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and always wear the proper safety equipment.
- Ensure outputs meet productions schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as Customer requirements.
- Communicate with Supervisor, Team Lead, Programmers, Planner, Quality and other Shop Personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
Qualifications
- Ability to Operate Overhead Cranes and Hoists.
- Familiarity with CSA W47.1 and W47.2 standards.
- Full knowledge of Weld Symbols as per CWB/AWS Standards.
- Experience with Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum.
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Effective Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
- Three to Five years of hands-on welding experience.
- Ability to read Imperial and Metric Measuring Systems.
- Ability to read and understand WPDS to set up and operate welding machines.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
