As a Customs Import Specialist , you will be responsible for processing customs clearance formalities and tracking of land/air/ocean shipments.

As the Customs Import Specialist, you will:
- Offer Canada Customs border clearance services to our clients importing goods into Canada
- Set up all the paperwork and report all goods/purchases and pay all duties and taxes to Canada Customs for our clients to ensure their products moves across the border quickly to avoid delays
- Provide day-to-day classification on good being imported
- Determine and provide input regarding OGD/SIMA and other requirements applicable to the product
- Liaise with clients for classification requests
- Maintain records to support classification determinations
- Support CBSA audits and projects in compilation of information related to HS classification
- Support regular customs operations and invoice processing
- Determine and document export customs classifications
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Efficiently and effectively manages workload to include competing priorities and deadlines, ensuring on-time completion of activities
- Contact clients, branches or other companies of additional documents or information is required
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
- Post-Secondary or High school diploma, or equivalent skills and experience
- Minimum of 2 years current customs brokerage experience or 2 years current rating and international experience
- Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) Certification is considered an asset
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to change in a business environment
- Knowledge of International Customs documentation and regulations
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Excellent computer skills, with demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs
- Telephone skills, general knowledge of geography, listening and verbal communication skills, high energy level, ability to multi-task, be dependable, emotional control, and good reporting skills
