Position Summary:
The HR Generalist at Oak View Group will have a broad scope of responsibilities, from new account hiring and recruiting support, employee benefits and compensation communication, labor law and regulation compliance, and other duties as assigned. This position will support the OVG People Operations team in all aspects of administrative and strategic HR functions, working closely with the Business Partner team to focus on proactive employee relations and field support for venues in need of HR assistance. Works closely with other departments in the People and Culture department and throughout OVG.
This role pays an annual salary of $72,000-$78,000 CAD.

About the Venue:
Located in southwestern Saskatchewan, the Temple Gardens Centre and the Moose Jaw Curling Centre opened in August 2011. The Moose Jaw Curling Centre is an 8-sheet facility and features a large lower lobby, locker rooms, and a spacious Original 16 Founders lounge overlooking the ice surface. The Moose Jaw Curling Centre is located within the Temple Gardens Centre, a sports and entertainment facility featuring an entertainment/sports bowl and distinct meeting areas.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws.

Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws, including the FMLA, ADA, and provincial and local laws.

Under the guidance of the senior HR team, investigate complaints and manage initial employee relations issues, including documentation, resolution recommendations, disciplinary actions, policy enforcement, and terminations.

Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Explain and provide information on employee benefits, advise on benefit needs, and help resolve benefit issues.

Assist with employee development and performance improvement plans.

Handle all administrative onboarding tasks, including meeting with new hires to review new hire paperwork, review benefits information, answer questions, and ensure an exceptional first-day experience.

Provide policy and procedure guidance and interpretation to employees and business leaders.

Maintain employee records, track HR metrics, and produce reports utilizing the HRIS system.

Act as liaison between corporate HR functions and the field, answer questions, and share feedback.

Provide support and guidance to the People Operations Transition Lead with the recruitment process.

Liaison with the Corporate People Operations team to support and manage strategic initiatives.

Assists with special HR projects, as directed by the VP-HR.

Payroll practitioner and processing the biweekly payroll cycle.

Ticketing builds for building tenants and major live events.

Processing ticketing reports and labour reports for ticketed events.

Provide general administrative support to the OVG People Operations team.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in human resources, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry.

Bachelor's degree in human resources preferred.

Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.

Exhibits strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee and business relationships.

Comfortable navigating grey areas.

Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing workflow demands.

Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

Must be detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently, and able to prioritize work effectively.

Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity and exercise sound judgement.

Knowledge of HRIS systems. iCIMS experience is a plus.
