Andrew Fleck Children’s Services is excited to introduce a new premium hourly rate for Kindergarten and School Age Educators!
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s growth, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and value the stability of a unionized position with predictable part-time hours. The schedule also makes this an excellent opportunity for candidates currently completing a diploma in the Early Learning and Education sector, offering meaningful hands-on experience alongside their studies.
In this rewarding role, you will provide nurturing care and engaging, developmentally appropriate programming for school age children in a safe and inclusive environment. You’ll work closely with families, colleagues, and community partners to help children thrive before and after the school day.
Available from: August 10th, 2026 to September 30th, 2027
Salary: $33.81 per hour, (Annual- $43,953.00)
Compensation Includes: 3 weeks of annual vacation, Benefits Plan, Paid sick leave, 2 personal days, Special leave
Hours: 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day, Split-shifts between 6:45 am to 8:45 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
*7 hours on PA and non-school days
Location: Stittsville Child Care Program, 40 Granite Ridge Dr., Stittsville, Ottawa, ON

In this role you will…
- Participate in a child-focused curriculum where staff and children work together to expand and develop a wide range of skills and competence based on the emergent curriculum philosophy. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves
- Engage in caring, curious, and respectful interactions with children to support their growing relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world
- Actively encourage and promote outdoor learning and play with the children
- Be committed to the welfare and development of all children, and be available for consultation, information, and resources for families and guardians
- Welcome the diversity of all families, role modelling inclusive and accessible language
To qualify for this role you have…
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education, Recreation or Child and Youth diploma
- RECE in good standing with the CECE or member of Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting
- Clear Police Records check completed in last 6 months
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Proven ability to work closely with other team members
- Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
- Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
