The Role
You run the metal install.
As Lead Metal Roofer, you own every aspect of the metal roofing system from substrate prep to final trim completion. You are responsible for precision, alignment, water-tightness, material handling, and overall visual finish.
There is no layering to hide mistakes in metal roofing. Every cut, seam, and fastening decision is permanent and visible.
You are the standard on site.
What You Will Own
- Full leadership of metal roofing installs from start to finish
- Pre-install verification of scope, materials, and measurements
- Panel layout, cutting, alignment, and sequencing
- Installation of all flashings, trims, ridges, and penetrations
- Ensuring full water-tight integrity of the system
- On-site crew direction and technical correction
- Material handling, storage, and damage prevention
- Waste minimization and jobsite efficiency
- Final inspection and quality sign-off before departure

Requirements & Nice-to-Haves
Required:
- Proven experience in metal roofing installation
- Strong understanding of panel systems, flashing, and trim work
- Ability to lead and direct roofing crews on complex installs
- High standard of workmanship and finishing detail
- Ability to read and execute install plans accurately
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with standing seam systems
- Prior lead hand / foreman experience
- Experience training installers on metal systems
- Background in high-end residential or architectural roofing
- Familiarity with multiple metal roofing manufacturers and systems
Compensation
This is a hybrid compensation structure:
You are paid:
- Hourly base pay for all hours worked
- Plus a per-square labour budget tied to installed output
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
