Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented FHO Operations & Billing Manager to lead the administrative and financial functions within our Family Health Organization (FHO). In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operational workflows, manage billing processes, and ensure seamless coordination across clinical and administrative teams. Responsibilities
Billing & FHO+ Compliance
- Optimize FHO+ income through billing practice improvement, FHO+ Hourly Rate monitoring (Q310–Q313), ratio cap compliance, and follow-up on outstanding premiums
- Provide one-to-one billing guidance to physicians and deliver physician education in collaboration with the PBC and Physician Treasurer & Billing Liaison
- Alert leadership to MOH accountability changes and ensure SMFMA meets all FHO/FHT reporting obligations
Roster Management
- Maintain accurate physician rosters ensuring alignment between Ministry records and EMR data, with timely re-rostering and reconciliation
- Manage roster transfers for departing and incoming physicians including patient notification and batch transfer paperwork
- Reconcile billing and roster discrepancies including those arising during Income Stabilization periods
Physician & Partner Onboarding
- Liaise with FHO Lead & MOH for new FHO physician registrations; manage Income Stabilization paperwork, managed entry tracking, and billing account setup
- Orient new partners and locums to SMFMA financial policies and billing procedures; support off-boarding and locum administration
- Monitor partner absences and schedules; provide summaries to the Chief
- Administration
- Manage the work plan and day-to-day activities of SMFMA billing administrators
- Provide HR support to billing and administrative staff; inform the FHO Lead of performance issues
- Work with the Business Manager on accounts receivable, missing bills, and locum and partner transitions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office administration with a strong understanding of healthcare operations.
- Familiarity with Telus PS Suite or similar electronic medical records systems is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing administrative or clinical staff within a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, FHO+, OHIP billing practices, and coding procedures relevant to medical settings.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and resource planning in a healthcare context.
- Background in hospital or acute care environments is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, adaptation and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Pay: From $72,000.00 per year
