Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Kitchen Helper will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and support the culinary staff in delivering high-quality meals to our customers. This role is essential for ensuring smooth kitchen operations and upholding food safety standards.
Duties
- Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Package food items for service or storage as required.
- Follow food handling and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Help with baking tasks as directed by the bakery team.
- Support customer service by ensuring timely delivery of food orders to front-of-house staff.
- Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment with strong customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving supplies.
