The Grande Prairie Public School Division is seeking a full-time teacher for an Innovative Support Centre (ISC) classroom. GPPSD ISC Classrooms provide the opportunity for a more specialized focus for students with broader educational needs. The successful candidate is supported by a multidisciplinary team in their responsibility for individualized program planning for a range of students and collaborating with Educational Assistants to assist with program delivery.

Qualifications:

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligible to apply)

Bachelor's degree in Education

Specialization in Inclusive Education is an asset but is not mandatory
-
Strong philosophy on inclusion and transferable life skills learning
-
Experience with specialized programming and students with specialized needs
-
Ability to form positive working relationships with staff, parents and students.

Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice
-
NVCI training is an asset, or willingness to be trained
