Overview
Shylo Home Healthcare is seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Office Assistant to join our growing team in our busy North Vancouver office. For over 45 years, Shylo has been a trusted provider of Home Care services, helping seniors and vulnerable adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their homes.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, takes pride in exceptional customer service, and is passionate about supporting older adults and their families.
The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, familiarity with scheduling procedures, and experience managing frontline care staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while developing experience and skills in nursing administration.
Schedule
- Thursday to Monday
- Full-time position
- Participation in the after-hours on-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to management team
- Answer telephones and respond to client and caregiver inquiries professionally and courteously
- Perform data entry, filing, document management, and general office administration
- Support Team Managers with scheduling-related administrative tasks
- Assist with community relations and outreach activities
- Maintain accurate client and employee records
- Participate in the after-hours on-call phone and scheduling rotation
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous scheduling experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to senior care and healthcare services
- Experience working in healthcare, home care, or a medical office
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
- Knowledge of the North Shore and Lower Mainland communities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, staff, and healthcare providers
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
