Community Inclusion & Employment Support Worker We are seeking a warm, outgoing, and dependable individual to support a young adult with an intellectual disability in building meaningful community connections, exploring personal interests, and developing independence. This is a part-time role focused on community participation, social inclusion, and securing paid employment. The individual has interests in computer gaming, video editing, photography, and badminton, and is exploring creative and technology-related employment pathways. Roles & Responsibilities: Research and organize local clubs, groups, and recreational activities aligned with personal interests, and support participation Assist with public transportation learning and community navigation and encourage social interaction, engagement, and participation in community life Support the development of confidence and independence in community settings When necessary, provide transportation using a personal vehicle to and from community events and activities Support the development of a career identity and exploration of potential pathways in creative, media, and technology fields Support the job search process, including brainstorming opportunities, leveraging existing connections, resume and cover letter development, employer outreach, and interview preparation Collaborate with potential employers, community groups, and the family’s network to identify meaningful employment and participation opportunities Provide on-the-job support as needed and support workplace integration and relationship building Qualifications & Skills Interest or experience in technology, gaming, photography, or video editing (would be an asset) Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed Knowledge of community resources and entry-level employment pathways in creative or technology fields (an asset) Valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) and Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required) This is a part-time, flexible position with scheduling based on community activities, events, and employment opportunities.
