The Chilko Experience | Chilcotin Region, British Columbia (Remote, On-site)
Season: Middle of May – end of October
Compensation: $850–$1,200 per week (depending on experience and time with the company) + overtime + tips
Includes: Accommodation + meals provided while on-site
Commitment: We are seeking someone able to commit to multiple seasons (2–3+ preferred) - we are a seasonal lodge, open May - October. Staff season is typically April - end of October. If interested, for the right candidate there may be winter work as a winter caretaker (please note: this will be on a different pay scale).
About Chilko
The Chilko Experience is a boutique wilderness lodge in British Columbia’s Chilcotin region. We host small guest groups (typically 12–16) and take pride in delivering a seamless, safe, high-standard experience in a truly remote setting. Reliable maintenance is essential to our operations.
The role
We’re looking for a capable, proactive Lodge Maintenance Technician with strong mechanical skills and electrical troubleshooting ability. You’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet and key systems running smoothly—trucks, ATVs, boats, generators, and general property infrastructure—alongside grounds maintenance and gardening support.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in problem-solving, and works well independently within a small team.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and repair trucks, ATVs, boats, and small engines
- Generator maintenance and troubleshooting
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs (within scope and safety)
- General property maintenance (repairs, preventative upkeep, minor carpentry/plumbing)
- Groundskeeping and gardening support (trimming, tidying, seasonal upkeep)
- Equipment safety checks and proactive preventative maintenance
- Maintain clear logs of work completed, parts required, and recurring issues
- Communicate effectively with management around priorities and timelines

Preferred qualifications
- Experience with boat/ ATV/ truck repairs
- Generator experience
