Job Title: Child and Youth Support Worker – Group Home
Location: Brampton
Employment Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (Weekends and Overnights Required)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Child and Youth Support Worker to join our group home team. The successful candidate will provide direct care and supervision to individuals with developmental and/or behavioral needs in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Availability to work weekends and/or overnight shifts is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support with activities of daily living (personal care, meals, hygiene, routines)
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents at all times
- Implement care plans and behavioral support strategies as directed
- Maintain accurate documentation, including shift notes and incident reports
- Administer medication as trained and authorized
- Support residents with community outings and appointments when required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and external professionals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful living environment
Required Qualifications:
- Availability to work weekends and/or overnight shifts
- Experience working in a group home or similar care setting preferred
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear criminal background check (Broad Record Check)
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- UMAB Certified (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred (Asset):
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Working Vehicle
- Any certificates in First Aid, WHMIS, Human trafficking, Mental health 101
