Summary
The expectation of this position is that the employee performs their duties and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner. Furthermore, the expectation is to perform these duties while working as a part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Display a positive attitude toward teammates; promote a cooperative work climate, while maximizing productivity and morale.
- Ability to support all team members by adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and business/ client needs.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate leadership and establish rapport with team members, client and guest.
- Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented. manner.
- May be required to replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
- Assure product is secured and locked away when necessary.
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor staff. This position must demonstrate willingness and capacity to manage and coach staff on workplace policies, including health and safety policies.
- Ability to discipline staff in accordance with Compass policy with regards to coaching and progressive discipline
- Assisting the Senior Supervisor with various tasks
- All other tasks as delegated by manager.
Job Specific
- Event preparation tasks including but not limited to:
- Organize and clean concessions
- Fill fridges and tankers with assigned product
- Replenish concessions with product necessary for service.
- Pushing appropriate tankers to their concessions
- Counting inventory prior to the event
- Ensure all QA standards for products are met including but not limited to checking expiry dates and proper first in first out processes are followed.
- Ensure all hot beverage machines are set up and fully stocked. Make hot chocolate or coffee when required.
- Verify end counts, inventory and associated documents are completed properly.
- In charge of assigned areas for major events. Locations may vary based on event needs
- Ensure event day staff have all tools required for the event including health and safety policies and procedures are met. This may include but not limited to, proper PPE, food and beverage par levels, and functional equipment
- Ensure month end inventory is completed and accurate
Event Day Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in pre-game stand-up meeting, when required.
- Assist in the stadium set up, including but not limited to, setting up stanchions, assigned concessions, verify that concessions are stocked, verify signage.
- Ensure all staff adheres to Compass best practices and policies including, proper cash handling, liquor policy and food safety.
- Ensure all staff are wearing the proper uniform, including oil and slip resistant shoes.
- Ensure staff always have their Smart Serve card on them.
- Walk the floor, check in with Jr. Supervisors and assist other Supervisors and Team Leads as needed
- Communicate effectively with team leads and cashiers throughout the event
- Be able to take on any position as needed (i.e. cashier or team lead)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and/or seek assistance from relevant department
- Ensure all concessions are closed and cleaned properly at the end of the event. Assist in stadium closure with other concessions teams when required.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Proper lifting techniques is a must. Employees are expected to get help if needed.
- Frequent periods of standing and walking are required; employees are encouraged to stretch as needed.
- Stadium is an outdoor venue and is subject to changing environmental conditions. Dressing appropriately and being prepared for changes in the environmental conditions is an expectation.
- Frequent use of stairs is required; elevator accessibility is limited to accommodating clients and staff with mobility and accessibility needs. Please speak with manager if you require accommodations.
- The stadium environment is a larger site, and tends to involve higher physical demands on event days.
- Please note this stadium is a loud environment on event days. Hearing protection may be available – ask your supervisor.

This position involves working in a unique environment. This is an event based venue and has characteristics that are inherent to an event based industry. We are licensed to carry and serve alcohol, and this is a very large part of our business. The majority of the positions we hire, come into contact with alcohol. This is not only an event based work environment; but is also a sports stadium, and as such is subject to crowds, lots of noise, and intoxicated guests. The safety of our employees is of the utmost importance, measures are taken to mitigate and reduce risk. Employees are expected to report hazards and injuries to their direct supervisor, manager or joint health and safety member.
Language Skills
- English is the working language at this job location. Candidate must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English.
- French is considered an asset; but is not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Must be bondable, and pass an employer administered background check.
- Must be able to demonstrate mathematical skills
- Must have at least 1-year relevant experience in a supervisor role
- Must possess a valid Smart Serve Certificate
- Must complete all mandatory training. Failure to complete can result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
