Pulse Directional Technologies is a leading manufacturer of Measurement While Drilling (MWD) tools for the downhole market. We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our dynamic production team.
Role Overview
In this role, you will bridge the gap between electronics assembly and mechanical fabrication. You will be responsible for building, soldering, assembling, and testing advanced MWD tools. The ideal candidate takes deep pride in the quality of their work, follows technical documentation precisely, and proactively identifies process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
· Electronics Assembly: Populate prototype and production PCBs; solder wiring harnesses for downhole and surface equipment.
· Mechanical Fabrication: Perform mechanical assembly of MWD tools using various hand and specialized tools.
· System Testing: Assemble and test complete MWD systems strictly according to technical production manuals.
· Data Management: Accurately enter test data, production information, and quality metrics into company databases.
Core Requirements
· Soldering Expertise: Proven experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) soldering.
· Wiring & Harnessing: Ability to fabricate reliable, high-durability wiring harnesses.
· Technical Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using oscilloscopes, standard hand tools, and specialized equipment like barrel (gear/friction) wrenches.
· Physical Capability: Comfortable using material handling equipment to safely move heavy objects.
· Digital Literacy: Proficient with basic computer usage, technical document organization, and data entry.
· Communication: Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
Valued Assets (Preferred Skills)
· Previous experience assembling, servicing, or troubleshooting MWD tools.
· Strong electronics troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities.
· Hands-on experience with electronics troubleshooting, component diagnostics, or custom prototype fabrication.
· A fast learner who adapts quickly to evolving production environments.
Pay: $17.50-$30.00 per hour
