Role Overview
We are seeking a talented CAD Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of Ionada’s next-generation carbon capture and emissions control systems.
You will play a key role in translating innovative concepts into practical, manufacturable mechanical designs used in real-world industrial and maritime applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for carbon capture systems and mechanical components
- Design assemblies for pressure vessels, piping systems, modular units, and structural components
- Collaborate with R&D, process engineers, and manufacturing teams
- Optimize designs for efficiency, weight, space constraints, and manufacturability
- Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and fabrication drawings
- Support prototype development, testing, and system validation
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, marine classifications)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Ionada’s product designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in CAD mechanical design
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems and materials
- Manufacturing processes (fabrication, welding, machining)
- GD&T and engineering standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience in energy, marine, or industrial equipment design
- Familiarity with:
- Pressure systems or gas processing equipment
- Carbon capture or environmental technologies
- Experience with FEA/CFD tools
- Knowledge of modular system design
