Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This position assists with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, HR records management, training coordination, and HR compliance activities.
This position requires fluency in both English and Spanish. The successful candidate will regularly communicate with Spanish-speaking employees and applicants, assist with onboarding and employee relations matters, translate and explain HR-related information, and support effective communication between employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, programs, and benefits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, attendance records, benefits documentation, and employment-related data.
- Enter and maintain employee information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and payroll systems.
- Prepare HR reports, letters, forms, and employment documentation as required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment legislation.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employment-related information to English- and Spanish-speaking employees.
- Experience supporting a diverse workforce in a bilingual environment is considered an asset.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting positions, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
- Facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements and onboarding documentation.
Employee Support
- Act as a point of contact for employees seeking HR support and guidance.
- Assist temporary foreign workers and international employees with workplace-related concerns or questions.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and HR programs.
Training & Compliance
- Coordinate employee training sessions and maintain training records.
- Support HR compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Health & Safety, Operations, and other departments as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and workplace accommodation requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
