Role Definition:
We are currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join the team at our Wheelshop in Hamilton, Ontario for out afternoon shift. This position works primarily in an outdoor industrial environment, performing the loading, unloading, movement, and organization of materials. The role involves frequent exposure to weather conditions year‑round.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a counterbalanced forklift and other industrial lift trucks.
- Load, unload, and move materials from various types of equipment.
- Work in an outdoor yard environment for most daily tasks.
- Assist and coordinate with machine operators and other shop floor processes.
- Sort, crate, and stack materials.
- Adhere to and promote safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High-school Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience safely operating a counterbalanced forklift.
- Forklift Operator certification an asset.
- Crane Operator certification is an asset.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment, including working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require full body mobility, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lb.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Rate of pay $25.84 with overtime after 40 hrs worked.
- Schedule: Afternoon shift (3pm to 11pm), overtime and weekends as required.
- $800 retention bonus (paid after probation, subject to all applicable deductions)
