Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and building systems, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic issues, and help ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, works well independently, and is committed to maintaining a safe, reliable, and well-functioning facility while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and calibrate a variety of industrial equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, adjust and safely maintain industrial, mechanical, electronic and pneumatic systems and equipment
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Regularly check the operation of instruments and equipment to detect anomalies
- Analyze the causes of breakdowns and provide proactive solutions to fix and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future
- Perform other duties related to the operation and maintenance of the building and related services
- Observe and report any situation that is considered dangerous for evaluation, and contribute any ideas relevant to the improvement of health and safety at work
- Actively participate in the improvement of maintenance processes and their documentation
- Perform additional relevant and related duties as required
Requirements
- Technical education in Industrial Maintenance Technology / Mechanical Engineering Technology / Electro Mechanics
- Experience in development and implementation of PC-based supervisory and PLC-control systems
- Experience in electrical, process control, instrumentation, automation, and computer and data communication systems
- Experience with automated machinery an asset
- Must demonstrate initiative, be prepared to work alone and independently
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays as needed by the business
