About Us:
Dreamcatcher™ takes a holistic approach to healing, integrating both traditional and non-traditional modes of therapy. Located on a beautiful 40-acre ranch just 15 minutes East of Sherwood Park, our therapists work within a natural or office setting alongside our human services assistance animals providing individual or group counselling to support those with complex mental health conditions including neurodevelopmental challenges, trauma, addictions, emotional and behavioural concerns, disabilities, functional challenges, and more.
About You:
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Psychologist or LCSW who has training in Animal Assisted Therapy and /or Equine Facilitated Counselling, and other therapy mediums (e.g., play therapy, EMDR, art therapy, etc.), is FNIHB approved or willing to obtain upon hire, has knowledge of Indigenous culture or is of Indigenous descent, is experienced in working with neurodivergent children and youth who may have multiple diagnoses and experienced trauma (complex conditions), has evening availability and reliable transportation and who enjoys working outdoors in nature, though all seasons and conditions, with a variety of farm animal species.

Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Master's Level Degree (or higher) - Registered Psychologist or Registered Clinical Social Worker who is in good standing with their respective regulatory body in Alberta
- Background Checks: Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check
- Training & Experience: Animal Assisted Therapy, Equine Facilitated Counselling, Horse Experience, other therapy mediums. Experience working with neurodivergent children and youth, Indigenous populations, and complex conditions.
- Availability/Location: We are open Monday-Thursday from 9am-8pm, candidates must be willing to work some afternoons and evenings, most shifts are on-site but some remote work may be required
- Transportation: We are rurally located and shifts are on-site, candidates must be living within driving distance to our location, have reliable transportation to and from work, and be comfortable driving in winter weather conditions
- Weather: Most sessions are outdoors, candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- Animals: We have a variety of small and large farm animals including horses, mini horses, donkeys, mini donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens (including roosters) and a resident cat. We also have a certified and trained dog that comes on select days. Candidates must love animals, have a natural affinity for animals and nature, and be comfortable working with our animals and obtain competency with our animals
