Scheller Metal Fab. Ltd. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Picker to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting production by ensuring parts are organized, inventory is accurate, production kits are prepared, and team members have the parts they need to keep work moving.
This is a hands-on, active role that works closely with our team. You'll spend time moving throughout the shop supplying parts as needed, maintaining inventory, collaborating, and maintaining strong communication. We're looking for someone who enjoys staying involved, takes initiative, and takes pride in keeping our parts department and production flow organized and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and organize parts for production.
- Create and maintain assembly/part kits to ensure jobs are ready when needed.
- Maintain an organized parts department and storage areas.
- Collaborate with departments to identify upcoming parts requirements.
- Communicate regularly with the Procurement Manager, Parts Team, and Shipping & Receiving to ensure a smooth flow of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate when restocking is required.
- Conduct inventory counts, investigate, and correct inventory discrepancies.
- Pick up parts from local suppliers as required using your personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing incoming materials.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Support the overall efficiency and continuous improvement of the parts department.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing parts (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of parts (Required).
- Knowledge in fasteners (metric/imperial) (Asset).
- Knowledge in hydraulic fittings (JIC/ORB/NPT) (Asset).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
- A proactive and positive attitude with the initiative to identify and solve problems.
- Pride in producing quality work and contributing to team success.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and communication.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle for occasional local parts pickups.
- The ability to lift and move materials safely (up to 50 lbs.).

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
