The South Fish Creek Recreation Association (SFCRA) is a not-for-profit organization that proudly operates Cardel Rec South, one of Calgary's busiest community recreation facilities. We are committed to creating exceptional experiences for our community through recreation, sport, and hospitality.
Cardel Rec South features four ice arenas, gymnasiums, eight multi-purpose program and rental rooms, and a wide variety of recreation programs. We are also proud to be an equal partner in the South Fish Creek Complex—a unique recreation, education, and library facility located in the heart of Shawnessy.
Located inside Cardel Rec South, The Bench is a welcoming, family-friendly restaurant overlooking Arenas 3 and 4. Whether guests are stopping in before or after a game, practice, or program, we pride ourselves on providing great food, refreshing beverages, and exceptional service in a relaxed atmosphere.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking Part-Time Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team.
If you are energetic, personable, and passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences, we'd love to hear from you. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys connecting with people, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional guest service with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to quality standards.
- Build positive relationships with guests through engaging and professional interactions.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of food, beverages, beer, wine, and spirits to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
- Assist with delivering food orders to guests' tables promptly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure efficient service.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and help create positive dining experiences.
- Follow all liquor service regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Accurately process orders and payments using the point-of-sale system.
Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid ProServe certification.
- At least one year of bartending or serving experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
