Qualifications
Experience in retirement living is an asset.
Culinary designation/diploma (asset) or equivalent experience.
Current Food Handler certification (or equivalent program).
Experience in quantity food preparation; knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide and
therapeutic diets.
Ability to direct and supervise others; understand oral/written directions.
Knowledge of HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in cooking and food preparation tasks, maintaining quality and consistency
- Handle food safely, adhering to all health regulations and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and dining areas
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow food handling protocols to prevent contamination and ensure safety
- Collaborate with team members to deliver timely service during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal assembly, and cooking methods is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures is desirable
- Experience in the food industry demonstrates a strong foundation for success in this role
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
