The Tuna Grinder Operator is responsible for operating the grinding equipment to process tuna and other seafood products according to company specifications, food safety standards, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial grinding equipment and bandsaw used for processing tuna.
- Prepare tuna for grinding by trimming, inspecting, and removing foreign materials as required.
- Ensure proper product weight, texture, and consistency .
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area before, during, and after production.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report mechanical issues to Supervisor.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in seafood processing or food manufacturing is an asset.
- Ability to operate industrial machinery safely.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, working in cold environments, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
