Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal systems across various projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hand tools, schematics, and blueprint reading, along with a strong understanding of construction and carpentry principles. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain sheet metal systems such as ductwork, ventilation, and roofing components in accordance with project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts efficiently.
- Perform caulking, sealing, and insulation tasks to ensure airtight and weatherproof installations.
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, carpentry, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and construction painting to complete projects seamlessly.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures by replacing or modifying sheet metal components as needed.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used for each project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with hand tools in construction or sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics essential for precise installation tasks.
- Familiarity with construction principles including carpentry, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply them effectively on-site.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues during installation or repair processes.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid <PERSON> (or equivalent) certification preferred but not required. Pay: $54,488.67-$102,640.97 per year
