Our client, a progressive crop farming operation located in Southern Alberta, (east of Taber, AB) is seeking a Farm Operations Manager to oversee daily agricultural operations and support the continued growth of their business.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Provide leadership and direction for daily farm operations, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to production schedules.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate farm personnel, including equipment operators, truck drivers, and seasonal labourers.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing company policies, conducting regular safety discussions, and leading by example.
- Monitor crop health throughout the growing season, identifying potential concerns related to pests, weeds, diseases, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with agronomy and management teams to implement crop production strategies and operational improvements.
- Oversee inventory management, storage monitoring, and quality control processes to maintain product integrity.
- Maintain detailed operational records, including crop performance, equipment utilization, and production activities.
- Conduct regular field inspections to evaluate crop conditions and support informed decision-making.
- Operate and troubleshoot agricultural equipment when required to support day-to-day operations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, utilizing industry best practices and emerging agricultural technologies.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, training, and support to team members.
- Represent the organization professionally when interacting with suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
- Assist with a variety of hands-on farming activities throughout the production cycle as operational demands require.
Education:
- Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Crop Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, industry certifications, and relevant agricultural experience will be considered.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Clear RCMP check required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams within a fast-paced agricultural environment.
- Strong understanding of crop production practices, farm operations, and agricultural safety standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with management, agronomy professionals, and operational staff.
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial farming operations is required.
- Previous experience supervising employees and coordinating day-to-day field activities.
- Experience with crop monitoring, operational planning, and production record management.
- Experience operating and maintaining a variety of agricultural equipment is preferred.

Base Salary: $125,000+ per year

Work Hours:
- Full-time hours.
- Standard work hours will vary based on operational requirements, with additional hours required during peak planting, growing, and harvest seasons.
