Victoria Distillers is looking to add a Procurement Agent to their team!
The Procurement Agent provides administrative support for our procurement department through inventory monitoring, ordering supplies, and scheduling deliveries to ensure that the company has the necessary materials.
This detail-oriented position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase strong organizational and communication skills, contributing to an exciting and fast-growing business. The successful candidate will also need to showcase a strong enthusiasm for teamwork and willing to assist in duties outside of their essential functions. This is a full-time position working in our Sidney, BC location.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for following up on daily procurement procedures to fulfill the demand for purchasing and related inventory activities.
- Creating and executing Purchase Orders in the ERP system.
- Communicating with vendors and shipping companies to follow up on the status of the Purchase Orders and incoming material respectively.
- Reporting the changes in pricing, lead time, or equivalent components to the Procurement Manager.
- Supporting the Procurement Manager in analyzing the material requirements for the Production team.
- Ensuring the content and the quality of the purchased materials match the requirements of the company.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Business, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a purchasing, buyer, or procurement role including the use of ERP systems - required.
- Strong communication, analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and support informed decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, with demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and analyzing spreadsheets, reports, and large datasets using formulas, functions, pivot tables, and data analysis tools while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to perform accurate calculations and analyze costs, pricing, inventory levels, and purchasing data.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with forecasting, inventory planning, cost analysis, and supplier performance metrics is considered an asset.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with a strong commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and accuracy skills.
