Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial driving and possess strong communication skills. This position involves transporting goods, heavy lifting, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods to various locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
- Delivers stock to customers by a predetermined route to insure customer received their order in a timely manner
- Completes any of the assigned pickups in a timely and safe manner
- Responds to customers’ needs in a polite and understanding manner and reports any problems or inconsistencies related to delivery to the supervisor in a timely manner
-Must report all accidents, tickets or other mishaps to warehouse manager or supervisor promptly.
- Must insure all proper paperwork and records are tuned in to supervisor, correct and on time. Returns signed delivery receipts to warehouse manager and gives non-delivered paperwork to supervisor.
- Provide warehouse relief when needed.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
-High school diploma or GED required.
-5 years of Driving experience.
-Must have experience driving a 26' ft commercial truck.
-Must have a valid Class G Drivers License. (DZ license would be great)
-1 year working in a warehouse environment. Distribution warehouse experience preferred.
- Heavy work: requires ability to lift, twist and carry up to 50 pounds, manipulate (pushing, pulling) up to 160 pounds of product, and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack / electric walkies.
-Must observe all Department of Transportation and driving regulations. Must have a safe driving record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
-Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment required.
-Excellent organizational, time management and customer relations skills are required.
-Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail required..
-Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
