We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tracing and Dispatch Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for tracking shipments, coordinating dispatch activities, and ensuring timely delivery of freight. Responsibilities
- Monitor and trace shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other tracking tools to ensure on-time delivery
- Coordinate dispatch schedules for freight carriers, drivers, and warehouse teams to optimize routes and delivery windows
- Maintain accurate data entry within systems such as AS400 and SyteLine, ensuring all shipment details are current and precise
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professionalism
- Analyze shipping data to identify delays or issues, providing actionable insights for process improvements
- Assist with shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Support supply chain activities by collaborating with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and internal departments to streamline operations
Skills
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), AS400, and SyteLine for tracking and dispatching shipments
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy in typing and record keeping
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret shipping data and identify trends or issues
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clear, professional interactions
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette
- Knowledge of freight regulations, 3PL operations, and shipping documentation requirements
