Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Mental Health Therapist to join the Adult Community Services team to deliver mental health and addiction assessment, consultation, case management, counselling and psychotherapy services to adults 18+. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with Recovery Alberta staff, psychiatry, provincial health authorities and other community partners to provide support to address moderate-to-severe emotional, behavioural and mental health/substance related disorders. This position is an advanced clinical position where the successful candidate will need to integrate evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to client's needs, employing an inclusive, trauma-informed counselling approach that prioritizes equity and diversity to enhance well-being and mitigate the effects of mental health and addiction issues and stigma. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health diagnosis with experience providing treatment for these complex needs and be able to navigate the health system to ensure the coordination of services to best meet the client’s needs. This candidate will be able multitask and effectively manage multiple priorities and demands with a large caseload.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
