Job Summary:
West Coast Pre Fab is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team. As a fabricator, you will be responsible for fitting, bending, forming and tacking components to assemble various structures or jobs. The ideal candidate will have a red seal ticket in fabrication with experience fitting structural and industrial products. This is a full time position located at our Chemainus shop.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Set up welding equipment and select the appropriate welding technique based on the project requirements
- Fabricate as per drawing specs
- Inspect product for flaws, bends or damage
- Perform basic machining tasks such as drilling, grinding, and cutting
- Use hand tools and power tools to fabricate and assemble metal parts
- Operate a forklift to move materials and finished products as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in various tacking techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication processes
- Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools for metalworking tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Minimum C Level Competency
- Capable of working in a team environment
