Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing various finishing tasks on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to project specifications. This role requires a strong background in carpentry, woodworking, and construction finishing techniques, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. The Finishing Carpenter will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to deliver exceptional results on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute finishing tasks
- Install cabinetry, flooring, tile, siding, and other interior and exterior finishes
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed for project completion
- Conduct restoration work including sanding, painting, caulking, and touch-up finishes
- Use hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and other specialized tools safely and efficiently
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, or roofing tasks when required for project integration
- Measure accurately and cut materials precisely to specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met with quality workmanship
- Estimate materials needed for finishing tasks and assist in construction estimating when necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or construction finishing roles
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating processes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other relevant equipment
- Experience with cabinetry installation, flooring installation, tile laying, doors, baseboard and casing installation, siding application, roofing, and caulking preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling or installation tasks
- Knowledge of masonry techniques including concrete forming and rebar installation is a plus
- Handyman experience or electrical/plumbing background is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments
- Strong communication skills and commitment to safety standards
Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
