Position Summary
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a positive experience while supporting the optometrist and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and schedule appointments
- Register patients and update electronic health records
- Verify insurance information and process payments
- Assist the optometrist during patient examinations as needed
- Perform preliminary testing and diagnostic procedures (training provided if required)
- Coordinate with optical laboratories and suppliers
- Maintain inventory of frames, contact lenses, and office supplies
- Keep reception and examination areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Complete general administrative and clerical duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical, optometry, ophthalmology, or customer service environment is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and electronic medical record systems
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Experience with optical dispensing is an asset but not required
