We are an Ottawa-based landscaping company with a busy 2026 season ahead of us. Interlock and hardscaping is one of the main services we offer, residential driveways, patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, and more throughout Ottawa and the surrounding communities.
Job Summary
We're looking for a skilled, dependable Interlock Installer to come on board. This is a boots-on-the-ground role. You'll be working through full installation projects from the ground up alongside the owner and crew. That means everything from excavation and base prep to pattern layout, cutting, edging, compaction, and final finish. The standard is simple: work the customer will be proud to look at every day.
We'll consider candidates at different experience levels, whether you've been doing this for years and want more responsibility, or you're earlier in your career but have a solid foundation in the craft and the drive to keep developing it.
Responsibilities
- Complete interlock installations end-to-end - base excavation, aggregate and sand prep, pattern laying, paver cutting, edging, and compaction
- Retaining wall construction - block selection, base preparation, batter, drainage management, and capping
- Steps, borders, and transitions - precise cutting and clean fitting
- Site grading and drainage - reading slope, managing water flow, and building bases that hold up long-term
- Safe use of compactors, plate tampers, and hand tools
- Experience operating or working alongside skid steers and mini excavators is a plus
- Sequencing a job correctly and working efficiently through each phase
- Contributing to a safe, productive job site and communicating clearly with the crew and customers
- Keeping tools and equipment in good shape and flagging any issues promptly
Requirements
- Real, hands-on interlock and hardscaping experience, this work should feel familiar, not new
- A genuine eye for detail and pride in the finished product, interlock is permanent and visible, and it reflects on everyone who touched it
- Physically capable of demanding outdoor work across all weather conditions
- Reliable, on time, and consistent
- A team player who can also take direction without issue
- Comfortable working from layout sketches or simple construction plans
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and sustain physical activity throughout the day
- Valid driver's license and your own transportation are assets
