Buco Pizzeria + Vino Bar EPCOR Tower in Downtown Edmonton is currently seeking an experienced General Manager to join our leadership team. The General Manager is responsible for upholding exceptional guest service standards while ensuring operational excellence across all areas of the business. The ideal candidate is a hospitality professional with a demonstrated passion for people development, service leadership, and the effective execution of restaurant operations.
Buco Pizzeria + Vino Bar is a modern, contemporary Neapolitan-style pizzeria that is part of Sorrentino’s Restaurant Group, a locally owned, family-run establishment serving the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas since 1979. Buco currently operate three separate locations within the Greater Edmonton Area – Windermere, EPCOR Tower in Downtown Edmonton, and St. Albert. As each location operates independently while upholding the Buco brand standards, we are looking for an ambitious individual eager to grow with our company as we continue to expand.
Position Overview
Our General Manager positions at Buco Pizzeria + Vino Bar play a key role in the day-to-day success of the restaurant by supporting efficient operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a positive team culture. This position is responsible for overseeing service standards, team performance, and operational procedures while working closely with senior leadership to align with company goals and values.
The General Manager is expected to maintain a visible presence on the floor, lead by example, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Support smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Manage and execute large events on Oilers Game nights, concerts, and corporate events.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising restaurant staff.
- Implement cost-control measures and drive revenue growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and effectively.
- Help oversee inventory levels and ordering processes, and perform duties as assigned.
- Help ensure relationships with suppliers are maintained.
- Contribute to the execution of the restaurant group's strategic plan.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in hospitality or a related field.
- Minimum 2 plus years of experience in restaurant management/supervising.
- Mandatory ProServe and First Aid certified.
- Strong leadership and operational skills.
- Proficiency in financial management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and providing excellent customer service.
