Overview
TriSon Farms International is a new, dynamic and rapidly growing business that was born out of a family tradition of quality, integrity, innovation and a love of food. We provide our customers with the best, premium quality produce year-round. The Quality Control Inspector is primarily responsible for communicating the condition and overall quality of products entering into, stored in, and shipping from TriSon Farms International.
We are currently hiring 2 Quality Control Inspectors, with one position available on the day shift and one position available on the afternoon shift.
Duties
- Work with the QC team to execute TriSon Farms’ Quality Control Program for all inbound and outbound product.
- Conduct daily inspection report of aged product.
- Maintain unique specification sheets for individual customers.
- Assist in drafting rejection paperwork for product that does not meet TriSon Farms quality standards.
- Responsible for providing quality inspections of staged product allocated for production.
- Conduct regular quality assurance inspections of packs done by Pack crew (condition of produce, pack specifications, labels, origin).
- Identify and escalate any pallets that visibly do not meet TriSon Farms specifications (crushed, leaning, damaged, etc.).
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OHSA, Food Safety, WSIB, CFIA, USDA, provincial and federal laws.
- Prepare inbound quality control reports for all products on Purchase Orders and enter the data correctly into the ERP system and Quality Control software.
- Prepare outbound quality control reports on all outbound product to ensure it meets individual customer’s standards and specifications. (ex. correct colour, size, condition, weight, and labels)
- Ensure reports are provided in a timely manner.
- Routinely audit discrepancies of product on the warehouse floor that do not match inventory in ERP.
- Routinely calibrate equipment used in department.
- Perform shelf-life testing as required
- Conduct other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or a college diploma or degree in food science, agriculture, engineering or biology is highly preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in a quality control role - within the fresh produce or food processing industry.
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Self-motivation with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Working in 50-degree environment
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Possesses a solutions-based attitude, curious and has an analytical perspective
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
