Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work with heavy equipment and develop skills in freight handling and commercial driving.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload freight
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance or repairs when necessary
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs and receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or issues
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of freight and operation of 5 ton delivery truck.
- Assist with reloading delivery trucks.
- Perform pre trip prior to departure each morning
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving or freight transportation preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related freight handling
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as needed
