Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, passionate and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and delight our customers. This role requires a commitment to food safety and an understanding of proper food handling techniques.
Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high quality and taste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar area, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Uphold all health and safety regulations in the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to help create memorable dining experiences for customers.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
