This senior year MBA elective course is designed to build on previous marketing courses by focusing specifically on aspects of integrated marketing communications (IMC). Advertising and promotion will be emphasized but public relations, personal selling, and direct marketing will also be covered. Both traditional (e.g. print, broadcast) and emerging media will be addressed. Students will learn to apply relevant psychological theory in IMC contexts and will acquire practical managerial information concerning developing, planning and executing advertising strategy, and media strategy.
Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. preferred in a relevant subject area. Demonstrated teaching excellence at McMaster or another university in a relevant subject area. More than 5 years of related managerial/professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Senior (at least fourth year) PhD student in Marketing in an accredited doctoral program with relevant subject matter expertise, or a Master's degree in a relevant subject and 10 years of managerial/professional experience in marketing or a related business function.
*Supplemented Fees- Article 15.02 The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule B of the Collective Agreement. The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount. If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
