Role Summary
The Scale Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the scale house, including weighing vehicles, maintaining accurate records, and managing site traffic flow. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient facility operations through strong attention to detail, customer service, and adherence to procedures.

Daily Responsibilities
- Operate weigh scales, computer systems, and scale software
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and tickets
- Screen and record incoming/outgoing loads
- Direct vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility
- Maintain a clean and controlled scale house environment
- Check basic functionality of scale equipment
- Answer phone calls and provide routine information
- Use MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Support shipping/receiving by entering product information
- Perform other operational tasks as required
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and in small teams
- Reliable transportation to/from the site (limited or no public transit)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- Comfortable working rotational day/night shifts
Working Conditions:
- Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights), weekends, and overtime as required
- Seasonal schedule with potential temporary winter layoff
- Facility environment requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting and handling materials
- Loading/unloading trucks and performing hands-on labour tasks
