Pine & Thistle Kitchen + Bar is looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the food & beverage manager with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Handle ingredients carefully to prevent unnecessary waste.
- Answer, report and follow executive or food & beverage manager instructions
- Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed.
- Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure the delivery of the best possible product.
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma preferred.
- 2+ years cooking experience, including fast-food or fast-casual restaurants
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures preferred
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiar with industry's best practices.
- Ability to follow instructions without necessarily knowing them
- High level of professionalism.
- Ability to work well as a team member in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks within the scope of a restaurant job
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis.

Pay: $15.00-$19.00 per hour
