Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Class 1 TDG Driver to join our team. This role involves the safe transportation of oil and gas fluids across various terrains ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with off road, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
This job is not a camp position, applicants must be willing to bunk in truck for entirety of shift and/or relocate, travel expenses are not paid by the employer. This is a safety sensitive position so the applicant must be willing to complete a pre hire drug and alcohol test.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles in accordance with transportation laws and safety standards
- Transport hazardous materials, including TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) compliant cargo, to designated destinations
- Load and unload freight according to company and customer procedure
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation for all loads, log books, pre trips and safety checks
- Perform troubleshooting to ensure vehicle reliability, communicate with management as needed.
- Communicate effectively daily with dispatchers and business partners
- Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous materials handling and transportation
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with clean drivers abstract
- Three years experience in commercial driving with verification from previous employers and or insurers stating product hauled and equipment type used
- Willingness to complete safety orientations, TDG certification and updated training as needed.
- Valid 1st Aid and H2S certifications. WHMIS certification available during orientation.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards for hazardous materials
- Willing to use electronic format field tickets, logs, pre trips and orientations
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and maintain punctuality
- Physical ability to handle equipment up to 50 lb , chain up and perform vehicle inspections as required
Pay: $37.00-$42.00 per hour
