Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative educator to join our Junior High team for the 2026-2027 school year as a Junior High Science Teacher.
In addition to delivering engaging and hands-on Science instruction, the Science teacher will revitalize the Robotics Lab by creating meaningful opportunities for students to explore STEM learning through coding, robotics, and design challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging Science lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and student success
- Foster a dynamic classroom environment that encourages inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking
- Support Junior High teaching and learning initiatives as a collaborative Learning Leader
- Integrate educational technology and digital tools to enhance student learning and engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units, school initiatives, and curriculum development
- Apply effective classroom management strategies that promote positive learning environments
- Provide ongoing assessment, feedback, and communication regarding student progress
- Participate actively in professional development and continuous school improvement initiatives
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and the broader school community
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Bachelor of Education (or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education)
- Junior High teaching experience, preferably in Science
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and instructional leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and innovation in education
- Adaptability, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working in a diverse learning community
