We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for exciting travel opportunities across Alberta. As a Travel LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and more. This position is ideal for those who thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to expand their clinical skills while exploring new locations.
Duties
- Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusion and injections.
- Assist with medical procedures, including catheterization, specimen collection, and physical examinations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide support in critical care settings, including emergency rooms and ICUs.
- Engage with patients and families to educate them about health management and care options.
- Participate in discharge planning and case management for patients transitioning from acute care.
Experience
Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of acute care ER or med/surge experience, which may include but is not limited to the following areas:
- Hospital experience (emergency medicine, hospital medicine)
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. CONNECT CARE IS AN ASSET
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding
- Experience in acute care
- Skills in phlebotomy, venipuncture, airway management, or catheter care, direct IV push
