Job Summary
The After School Program Leader is responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children during after-school hours. This role involves supervising students and facilitating activities to foster their social and intellectual development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a background in early childhood education or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives while developing leadership skills within a supportive setting.
Duties
- Supervise children in the after-school program, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and teamwork among children
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space
- Monitor student behavior and address conflicts or concerns promptly and appropriately
- Walk to pick up children from Davidson Elementary (1.2 km each way)
Skills
- Experience working with children in recreational settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children and parents
- Ability to create engaging activities that promote learning and social development
- Responsible, reliable, and committed to fostering a safe environment for children
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic setting
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
