Part-Time Heavy Duty Mechanic

Thompson Valley Disposal is looking for a Part-Time Heavy Duty Mechanic to help maintain our growing fleet of trucks and trailers.
This position is ideal for a certified mechanic looking to pick up extra work with a flexible schedule. Hours will vary based on workload and fleet requirements, with the potential for additional hours as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Complete general service, truck, trailer, and tire inspection checklists
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Complete minor repairs, including: Air lines, Brake, Lights and electrical issue, General truck and trailer repairs
- Identify maintenance concerns before they become major issues
- Assist with maintenance records and paperwork filing
- Help keep our fleet compliant and road-ready
Qualifications
- Heavy Duty Mechanic certification preferred
- Experience working on commercial trucks and trailers
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Weekend availability when required
What We're Looking For:
We are not looking for someone to perform major engine or transmission repairs. Instead, we need a reliable mechanic who can regularly visit our yard, inspect equipment, complete minor repairs, and help us stay on top of preventative maintenance and compliance.
Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Pay: $45.00-$65.00 per hour
