The Spatial Designer creates innovative, functional, and visually engaging environments for airports, transportation hubs, government facilities, healthcare, education, and other public spaces.
Working closely with Sales, Product & Design, Marketing, and clients, this role develops space plans, design concepts, and visual presentations that optimize passenger flow, accessibility, and user experience while showcasing Arconas' product portfolio.
This position is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys solving complex spatial challenges and transforming ideas into inspiring public environments.
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning & Design
- Develop creative and functional space plans for transportation terminals in public and commercial environments.
- Design layouts that optimize circulation, accessibility, capacity, and user experience.
- Integrate Arconas products into cohesive interior environments.
- Ensure layouts comply with project requirements, accessibility standards, and applicable codes.
- Recommend furniture layouts, power locations, and supporting design elements.
Design Visualization
- Create floor plans, presentation layouts, diagrams, and visual concepts for client presentations.
- Prepare professional design packages that clearly communicate project intent.
- Support customer presentations with engaging visual materials.
Project Collaboration
- Work closely with Account Managers and clients to understand project objectives and design requirements.
- Support projects from concept through final presentation.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Installation teams.
Technical Documentation
- Produce accurate AutoCAD layouts and maintain organized project documentation.
- Develop and maintain CAD libraries, product blocks, and drawing standards.
- Prepare technical drawings and layout revisions throughout the design process.
Trade Shows & Product Support
- Design layouts for trade show booths and exhibition spaces that effectively showcase new products and collections.
- Support new product launches through layout illustrations and presentation materials.
- Maintain finish samples and material libraries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in space planning or commercial interior design.
- Experience with public spaces, transportation, healthcare, or institutional projects is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is required.
- Experience with Enscape, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering/visualization software is considered an asset.
- Ability to create accurate 3D models and visual presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
