Avanti Aerospace & Engineering Inc. is a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), approved for performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engine and dynamic components, including welding and NDT special processes on North American and European aircraft.

Avanti is looking for a Qualified Precision Machinist. Highly skilled apprentices also considered. The candidate will work with a team of highly skilled professionals in the machining department.
You must currently be authorized to work in Canada. Include in your cover letter a detailed description of the type of machining that you have completed in the past year.
Job Details:
· Location: Langley, BC.
· Salary: Based on experience, to be negotiated.
· 40 hours per week, Permanent full-time Day Shift. Monday to Friday with Sat/Sun/Stats off.
· 1 Vacancy.

Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Machinist Trade Certification; Machinist Red Seal Endorsement.
Experience: 5 years minimum
Specific Skills:
- Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables and other written instructions.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
- Set up and adjust production machinery and tools.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
- CNC VMC experience an asset.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Use measuring tools such as Micrometers and Verniers.
- Understands and abides by safety policies and procedures.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Mature with a positive attitude.
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Milling machines; Engine lathes; CNC machines.
Security and Safety: Bondable; Criminal record check will be required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Attention to detail.
