IVY Education Group is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic English Reading & Writing Teacher to teach small-group classes for school-aged students on Sundays.
We currently offer four English Reading & Writing classes:
Grades 4–5 combined
Grades 6–7 combined
Grades 8–9 combined
Grades 10–11 combined
Each class is 1.5 hours long, with a maximum of 6 students per class, allowing teachers to provide more individualized support and attention.
Our students are primarily local school-aged students who would benefit from additional support in English reading and writing.
The main focus of the program is to strengthen students’:
Reading comprehension
Writing skills
Grammar and vocabulary
Critical thinking and written expression
Schedule
Classes are held in person on Sundays, South Edmonton, AB
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
Has strong English reading and writing skills
Enjoys working with school-aged students
Is comfortable teaching students from Grades 4–11
Can plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons
Is reliable, patient, organized, and supportive
Can commit to teaching on Sundays throughout the school year
Has previous teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience
An Alberta Teaching Certificate is not required.
Experience teaching English Language Arts, reading, writing, ESL/EAL, or tutoring elementary/junior high/high school students would be an asset.
