Alpha Construction Inc. seeking an experienced, safety-focused, local Rough Terrain Crane Operator to operate a Tadano 100-tonne crane on a project in Fort McMurray. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely performing lifting operations, conducting equipment inspections, and working closely with site personnel to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-oriented crane operator with extensive experience operating rough terrain cranes in industrial and construction environments. They demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to safe lifting practices.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Tadano 100-tonne Rough Terrain Crane safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-use inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Read and interpret load charts, lift plans, and site drawings.
- Set up crane, deploy outriggers, and verify ground conditions.
- Execute lifts in accordance with lift plans and site procedures.
- Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, and supervisors.
- Monitor weather, wind conditions, and site hazards.
- Complete required operational and maintenance documentation.
- Report equipment deficiencies and coordinate repairs as required.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb in and out of crane cab safely.
- Ability to perform equipment inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work extended hours when required
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Crane Operator Certification or equivalent provincial certification.
- Minimum 5 years of crane operating experience.
- Proven experience operating 80- to 100-tonne Rough Terrain Cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts and lift plans.
- Strong understanding of crane safety regulations and lifting procedures.
- Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
