Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Shipping Specialist to join our supply chain team. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless procurement of materials, efficient vendor management, and timely shipping operations to support manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP systems, strong negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of supply chain management. Duties
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process using SAP and other ERP systems, including sourcing, vendor management, and procurement activities.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contractual agreements to optimize costs and service levels.
- Monitor inventory levels using MRP systems to ensure timely replenishment of materials needed for production.
- Coordinate shipping schedules, prepare shipping documentation, and oversee the timely dispatch of goods to external customers.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, shipping logs, and vendor communications.
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for process improvements or cost savings.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to forecast material needs and ensure supply chain continuity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to procurement and shipping activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, and MRP software is highly preferred.
- Strong vendor management skills with a track record of successful negotiation on pricing and delivery terms.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, procurement best practices, and supply chain logistics.
- Experience working with manufacturing teams to align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing purchase orders and shipping documentation.
- Prior experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships is advantageous.
